Entry Forms, Rules and Safety Info

2009 Rules and Requirements for Demolition Derby Cars
  1. 1.Applies to 1980 and Newer Big & Mini Cars. 6 Cyl. Cars less than 106" wheelbase will run with 4 Cyl. Cars.
  2. 2.Flagmen will measure, check and clear. NO JEEPS, LIMOS, VANS, CONVERTIBLES or CHECKER CABS.
  3. 3.All glass - including headlights, mirrors, windshields etc. removed before being brought to derby.
  4. 4.Stock gas tanks must be removed. Use steel marine tank or custom steel tank, NO Plastic tanks. Tanks must be secured and fastened down in the middle of the back seat area & covered with a fire shield. Max. 3 Gallons of Gas.
  5. 5.Cars with electric fuel pump must have a safety shut off switch mounted on the top of the steering column or dash for easy access for DRIVER & FLAGMEN. All fuel lines must have leak proof fittings with rubber or steel lines. Lines should run inside of car.
  6. 6.No special bumpers or reinforcements are allowed. 1970's bumpers CAN NOT be used on 1980's cars. Only car bumpers on cars ( no truck bumpers). 6-8 Cylinder bumpers on 6-8 Cylinder cars. 4 Cylinder bumpers on 4 Cylinder cars.
  7. 7.All trailer hitches must be removed and rough edges pounded down prior to derby.
  8. 8.12 volt car battery must be moved to the front passenger floor and placed in a container away from the Gas tank and must be secured and fastened down and covered with a shield.
  9. 9.Roll bars can be used if desired.
  10. 10.Drivers must drive forward and backward. There will be NO DELIBERATE HITTING ON THE DIVERS DOOR, OR DRIVER TRYING TO PULL HIS DOOR-WHICH COULD RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. (Decision of the flag crew.)
  11. 11.All doors must be welded or wired shut, including station wagon tailgates.
  12. 12.Cutting fender and body for wheel clearance is allowed.
  13. 13.Drivers must not leave their cars unless told to do so by track official and only when the flag is raised.
  14. 14.In Case of a Fire or Rollover, stay clear of the ring and off of the track. A car that rolls is disqualified from the heat, but upon re-inspection by the flag crew and okayed for safety may go into hard luck if there is one. This could vary by Derby. (Flag crew's decision).
  15. 15.No spring jacks or blocked shocks allowed. Suspension must remain stock (must have movement).
  16. 16.Hoods and trunk lids must be operable; they must be wired but not welded.
  17. 17.ALL CARS AND TRUCKS MUST HAVE WORKING BRAKES AT ALL TIMES.
  18. 18.There must be at least 12" hole in hood above the carburetor in case of fire.
  19. 19.Radiator must be flushed of anti-freeze and replaced with water only, overflows must point straight down or positioned so as not to cause harm to other drivers.
  20. 20.All air bags and sensors must be removed.
  21. 21.All flammable material except the driver's seat and dashboard must be removed.
  22. 22.Maximum 16"D.O.T. Tires. No forklift tires. All tires must be filled with air only.
  23. 23.All wheel weights must be removed.
  24. 24.DRIVERS DOOR ONLY TO BE PAINTED WHITE, with car number IN BIG LETTERS, and also CAR NUMBER ON PASSENGER DOOR AND ROOF as well. NO ALL WHITE CARS.
  25. 25.On the outside of the drivers door there may be a thin steel plate bolted in 4 locations, max ½" through bolt & spot welded, no angle iron or C channel.
  26. 26.No dash bars across dash.
  27. 27.Over repaired frames could be considered reinforced and result in disqualification or adjustment. Official's decision. Drivers may be asked to cut over repaired areas.
2009 Safety Regulations for Demolition Derby Cars
  1. 1.All cars or trucks must have a working Seatbelt, also Helmet with Shield or Safety glasses, chin strap in place and done up.
  2. 2.Safety helmet to be kept on until the heat is completed. ABSOLUTELY NO REMOVAL DURING HEAT.
  3. 3.Drivers must wear long pants & shirts or Coveralls and closed in Shoes or Boots. No Sandals.
  4. 4.If one car deliberately pushes another car over the rails or cement blocks BOTH CARS ARE DISQUALIFIED. THIS WILL BE A FINAL DECISION CALL BY TRACK OFFICIALS.
  5. 5.If a car rolls over in a heat, it will be disqualified. Following the heat - upon inspection to see if the car is safe and within safety standards, it may be allowed to go into the hard luck heat if there is one. Final decision call by Track Officials. (FLAG CREW)
  6. 6.Cars must be removed from the grounds immediately following the derby or it will become the property of TMT MOTOR SPORT MANIA.
  7. 7.Demolition Derby's can be very dangerous. If you have any serious health problems you should NOT compete. (Including pregnancy - Absolutely NO.)
  8. 8.All driver's MUST ATTEND DRIVER'S MEETING and ask questions when in doubt.
  9. 9.NO DRINKING OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR DRUGS IN THE PIT AREA OR ANYWHERE THAT IS CONNECTED TO THE DEMOLITION DERBY. THIS PERTAINS TO THE DRIVERS, PIT CREW, TOW OPERATORS, FANS AND MECHANICS ETC. THIS WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION AND WILL BE MONITORED CLOSELY.
  10. 10.Additional safety rules and regulations may be forth coming depending on weather and ring conditions.
  11. 11.HEAT WINNER OR HARD LUCK WINNER MUST be the SAME DRIVER AND SAME CAR THAT GOES TO THE FEATURE. Absolutely no Exceptions!
  12. 12.If the pit area is enclosed ONLY THE DRIVER AND MECHANIC DOES NOT PAY.
  13. 13.ALL PIT AREA PASSES MUST BE VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES. No one under the age of 16 is allowed in the pit area. All people with pit passes must sign a release form at the PIT AREA GATE when buying a Pass as well as carry ID with them at all times. If you do not have a pass, you will be escorted from the pit area IMMEDIATELY.
  14. 14.Only 1 tow vehicle per car entry allowed in the pit area.
  15. 15.Drivers must be at least 16 years of age.
  16. 16.Each driver must fill out an entry form.
  17. 17.REFUNDS. There will be absolutely NO REFUNDS OF ENTRY MONEY for any reason. THAT INCLUDES DISQUALIFICATION.
  18. 18.TMT MOTOR SPORT MANIA, LAND OWNER, FLAG CREW of any Demolition Derby event are not responsible for any injuries occurred either by Driver or Pit Crew and Driver is responsible for Pit Crew. It is your responsibility to carry your own insurance for this purpose.
  19. 19.All rules and regulations must be observed. TMT MOTOR SPORT MANIA, LAND OWNER, or FLAG CREW reserves the right to approve or reject or change any and all entries and rules.
  20. 20.Absolutely no Snow Tires on any Front Wheel Drive car.
